Math Intervention

Are you concerned about your child's math ability?  Are you unsure of how they are 'actually' doing in each area of math and overall?  At Bloom Learning Centre, we have certified specialized training and the materials to be able to test your child in the 11 areas of math instruction.  This testing can be done in a couple of hours and we can discuss the results with you by the next visit.  These results help create the exact programming for your child.  We use a Canadian approved diagnostic assessment that is an individually administered measure of essential mathematical concepts and skills that can create your child's program based on their exact test results.

Common Questions about the Math Intervention

How will this benefit me as a parent/my child as a learner?

Often, parents are unsure of how their child is 'truly' doing, especially in the area of math and are unsure of how to find out and then what to do about it.  Many 'programs' are not truly individualized and standardized.  After completing this assessment (takes about a couple of hours), we will have precise data on where your child is performing in each of the 11 strands of math instruction and will discuss this with you.  Note:  Flexible options for scheduling in the assessment time/date (as it is longer than the typical session).

What happens after I find out where they are in math?  Then what?

After the results are discussed with you, we have the capability to create the exact lessons that match the child's ability in each of the 11 areas of math based on their individualized results.  The program is designed specifically for your child - exactly what they need to fill some of those areas that may need it.  No guesswork!  We have qualified math interventionists available to implement this specialized program to your child. Bloom Learning Center allows you to follow up in the form of individualized math programming (intervention to 'fill the gaps in learning more so than traditional 'tutoring').  Those sessions, if chosen, will be 45 minute time slots per session.

What if I just want the testing (math or reading) but do not want the follow up intervention?  Is that a possibility?

YES - the scheduled intervention is completely optional for follow up but recommended for student growth.  If you are just wanting a standardized math assessment to get a snapshot in time of your child’s strengths and areas of need, we provide that as well for a flat fee.  The results will be discussed with you in a 30 minute debrief, if desired, to discuss your child's performance, strengths and areas in which to grow.

*Note:  Any results discussed are considered diagnostic and not prescriptive meaning we can not advise or direct school programming in any way.

Growth

Proven Model of Success

We have had the benefit of seeing the overwhelmingly positive results so far from implementing this specific student testing, programming and ongoing support.  With the use of this standardized testing and individualized program materials, student success has been marked. Concrete testing results show us this model works!  Retesting is a valid data driven way to see this as a parent as well as your child's confidence beginning to 'bloom'.

Do you have any proven results?

Yes...we certainly do!

We knew we needed a proven model of success so for the past couple of years, we have been implementing this intervention system - and the results amazed even us!  Parents were thrilled and knew it made a major impact for their child.  We had to grow it!  Let it bloom...

Flexible Scheduling

We offer flexible intervention sessions that fit your family’s schedule, so your child can get the help they need without disrupting the routine.  We recommended twice a week for reading intervention as this will give the student the boost and consistency they need to improve.
